Things have been quiet on our end for a while, and it even felt a bit like we were sitting in a waiting room. We spent time with God, but the next steps weren’t immediately revealed. But the Christian life isn’t just about the final destination—it’s also about the journey itself. After all, Jesus says, “I AM the Way.” And it’s up to us to simply walk with Him, even when the future is still shrouded in fog.
But in the meantime, further clarity has emerged.
While praying and listening for what the next plan might be, Europe had already come up a few times. But that’s a very broad concept and could even mean the Netherlands. The idea also came up several times to help out in Spain on the “Camino,” the famous pilgrimage route with its countless diverse hikers.
Ten years ago, we helped friends there who run a Christian hostel. They were in dire need of help at that very moment—just as we were returning from Madagascar and asking the Lord what we could do for Him.
It’s now run by others we know. So when we sent the message, “Need help?”, the reply came back confirming that they urgently need help in August.
Ahh, that’s why we just couldn’t connect with Malawi! Every time we prayed about a mission to Malawi (which is what we initially thought), we didn’t feel peace in our hearts. The General had other plans in mind.

So we’re leaving the Netherlands behind once again and heading to the land of sunshine and sombreros. And as it stands now, we’ll be able to serve there until mid-October.
