How liberating it always feels when God speaks and gives further direction. The house is sold under reservation of finances to a Christian family and the date is set for November 4th.
Our question to God was, what is our next place to live/stay after this date? A house or cottage here or there? But no, the Lord has other plans. In various ways He confirmed that we are going on another adventure. This time to Brazil for 6 months. And actually it suits us. Home sweet home is just not quite the shape we can be cast in. We need faith challenges. And the Lord wants to provide those!
Is that easy? Usually not. But the world needs to know how wonderful our God is! And that He is so trustworthy and can work extraordinary things through ordinary people.
We have prayed before: Lord, we want to know You better and see You moving mightily in and through our lives.
This is an answer to that with another new invitation: To let go even more and trust Him more. He always longs to show Himself powerfully to those whose hearts are fully committed to Him. And He calls all His children into a deeper trust in Him.
So for us this time, that means we are challenged to not have a fixed place of residence in the Netherlands when we return. Say “Step on the Water 2.0. Trusting God even more, that He always takes care of you.
But the secret always remains the same: keep your eyes on Jesus alone and you will always be all right. He is the Rock in the surf.
We have now started selling and giving away stuff in a big way. And what a blessing that brings! Giving brings blessing! It blesses others and at the same time yourself. It gives space, freedom and breath. Jesus knew what He meant when He said: leave everything behind and follow Me. Because the only security a person can have is the Creator alone. Eventually everything falls away and you even have to leave your body behind. As we experienced with Amanda’s father.
The less possessions, the less worries and burdens that hinder. What a freedom. Light as a feather.
While cleaning up, Amanda came across the first book she had received after coming to faith. Corry ten Boom – Tramp for the Lord.
Kind of appropriate. Wandering for God. So go where He wants you to go.
To be continued…
